So How is LBP doing?

There are a lot game review websites and there are tons of information about different games on the web. We’ve done a quick research and collected LBP verdicts from the most popular sources. In this post we want to show what the best gaming websites say about LittleBigPlanet, but before we do this let’s see what largest aggregators think about LBP.

According to TestFreaks, who analyzes most game reviews, LittleBigPlanet scored a perfect Freakscore of 10/10 (based on 147 expert and 293 user reviews) and got the first place in the list of the best PlayStation 3 games.

The same place LBP got on GameStats with a bit less score though - 9.6 out of 10 based on 42 reviews.

On Metacritic LBP has scored 95 out of 100 (based on 78 reviews), making it the number two game on the system.

GameRankings collected 62 media outlets and gave LittleBigPlanet only 94% Avg Ratio (second place in PS3 ratings).

Here are some verdicts from the different LittleBigPlanet reviews:

“LittleBigPlanet is without a shadow of a doubt my favorite game to come out this year. This is a truly unique game and isn’t just a rehash like 90% of the titles out there. The inclusion of the level creator and community maps lets you think towards to future and what it’ll be like when more games include functionality like this. If you only buy one game this holiday season, make it LittleBigPlanet because you won’t be disappointed.” - Gametactics

“All things considered, I recommend LittleBigPlanet to a wide range of people: creative players, curious gamers, platforming enthusiasts, parents looking for something to share with their kids (playing co-op is so much fun!), etc. The game is everything it promised and more: striking level design, great music, easy controls, addictive gameplay, tons of features and collectables, and amazing physics. Time will tell if this 3D crafted material world will turn into something huge like a “littlebig” gaming genre.” - Cheat Code Central

“It’s a great time to be a gamer, and with a game like LittleBigPlanet part of the PlayStation 3’s portfolio it’s just gotten a lot better. If you haven’t made up your mind on a purchase of LBP yet, then allow me to convince you; not owning LittleBigPlanet and being a PlayStation 3 owner should be a crime against, well…something. Media Molecule has created a game that’ll go down in video game history as one of the best gaming achievements ever, and you’d be extremely foolish to pass this up. There is absolutely nothing out there that can give you this much bang for your buck.” - PSX Extreme

“Little Big Planet is a startlingly imaginative take on the platforming genre, and its story mode, while short, is truly outstanding. It’s down to the community to elongate the life of the game, and while only the most ardent fans will be up to the task of making compelling content, the tools here certainly have some potential. If you’ve not got a creative bent then you might feel like you’re getting half a game, but that doesn’t stop Little Big Planet being a star that burns twice as bright, half as long.” - GameSpot

“As you can see, I had a ton to say in this review, but that’s because there’s a ton to this game. LittleBigPlanet is a massive game, one that is essentially two parts intertwined so well that they’re practically inseparable. Media Molecule has created a brilliant platformer, and then given you the tools to recreate the whole thing over again, or better yet, to create your own ideas from scratch. It’s not perfect - - the controls could be tighter, automatically shifting between planes can be problematic, the editor isn’t quite as robust as you might hope — but what’s there is nothing short of astounding. If you own a PlayStation 3, you cannot miss this. If you don’t have a PS3 yet, this is the reason to get one.” - IGN
